Dr. Peter Lovell Dr Peter J Lovell, Programme Manager

Peter studied Chemistry at Imperial College, gaining a BSc Honours in 1989 and a PhD in 1992. He started his career at Roche Products in Welwyn Garden City as a team leader in Medicinal Chemistry. Following a move to GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals in 1995, Peter led multidisciplinary research teams on a wide range of projects targeting antipsychotics, antidepressants and drugs for cognitive enhancement, sleep and bipolar disorders. In March 2009, he joined RDS London as Programme Manager and has been involved in the set up and management of the service.

 

David SmithDavid Smith, Communications Manager

David studied Marketing and Communications at the University of Greenwich, gaining a BA Honours degree in 2004. On completion of his degree, David travelled to Greece where he spent the season working in events promotion before returning to the UK to join the Marketing team at Orpington College of Further Education. Having gained experience for some prestigious organisations such as the NHS and the DfES David went on to co-ordinate the Marketing and Communications at Trinity Laban, the world's number one conservatoire for music and dance, before joining RDS London in June 2009 as Communications Manager.

After completing her Ma Honours degree in Social Anthropology in 2004, and an M.Res degree in Health Geography in 2005, from the University of St Andrews, Carol gained a post in the Scottish Executive Health Department. In this role she worked as Policy Manager in the Patient Focus Public Involvement Branch, developing her knowledge and experience of Public Involvement in the Health Service. Using research skills gained through her M.Res she took on the post of Research Assistant for the Involving People project, a Welsh Assembly funded project that aims to support and encourage patient, service user and carer involvement in health and social care research in Wales. This post allowed her to develop her skills of working with both researchers and patient service users, skills that will undoubtedly assist her in her post as User Involvement Officer for RDS London.

Kate studied Classical Civilisation at the University of Leeds, gaining a BA honours degree in 2008. Shortly after completing her degree Kate began working at King's College London, taking on various administrative roles within the Department of Health and Social Care Research. In February 2009 she became the Administrator for RDS London.
